Commonwealth Writers is the cultural initiative of the Commonwealth Foundation. They inspire and connect writers and storytellers across the world, bringing personal stories to a global audience.

The Commonwealth Short Story Prize is awarded for the best piece of unpublished short fiction (2,000 – 5,000 words) in English. Entries for 2020 will showcase the work of authors from around the Commonwealth who share their personal insights below into how they have been affected by COVID-19.

The shortlist for the 2020 prize has been drawn up, and the five regional winners and one overall winner will be announced in the coming months.
